Jim Maloof
Oct. 18, 1919 - Jan. 19, 2013

Our Green Ribbon Tribute With Jim's passing we have lost one of the true icons of and champions for Peoria. While we are saddened by the loss, his spirit will live on in the hundred - if not thousands - of people he has inspired over the decades. That's why we are sharing Our Green Ribbon Tribute: to commemorate this man who wanted everyone around him to succeed - especially the city he loved so much. So when you see those little green ribbons, we hope you will be reminded of all the big - and little - things Jim has done to help countless others succeed. Please share your stories about Jim Maloof here.

(1) The first time I met Jim was at a St. Jude Auction. I was pregnant and he caused a bidding war for a baby sweater. Both people were buying it for me too!! His tireless work for St. Jude truly is an inspiration. I will always love him and miss him and miss giving him kisses. It has meant so much to me working here for the past 11 years. He told me "family first, that's how we keep you."

I will always miss you calling us bubbie.

Love you more.
