Our Green Ribbon Tribute With Jim's passing we have lost one of the true icons of and champions for Peoria. While we are saddened by the loss, his spirit will live on in the hundred - if not thousands - of people he has inspired over the decades. That's why we are sharing Our Green Ribbon Tribute: to commemorate this man who wanted everyone around him to succeed - especially the city he loved so much. So when you see those little green ribbons, we hope you will be reminded of all the big - and little - things Jim has done to help countless others succeed. I have been honored to have known Jim since I was a child. He always inspired me as a devout man of God, a community leader, a business man and Peoria's leader for St Jude. Most importantly to me he was a friend. Always greated me with a smile and a wise crack!!! I will miss him very much but know that he will be in my heart forever. I can only imagine the welcome he recieved when he arrived home........

I loved being your florist when you were my mayor. I laughed when you came into my shop and you serenaded the customers. When I joined JMR, you supported me, you celebrated my successes and helped me learn from my challenges. You trusted me, had faith in me and encouraged me to grow. I'll miss you so very much, my dear Jim, but there is a peace in my heart knowing you're singing in heaven. Because of you I am a better person and you can count on me to do my part to keep your spirit alive.

Love you more,
Carol

Jim....

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through

In that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carousel
The chestnut trees, the wishin' well

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In every thing that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way

I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you

I'll see you in that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carousel
The chestnut trees, the wishin' well

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In every thing that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way

I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you

I'll be seeing you
I'll be seeing you

Love and hugs.... Julie

Jim was a great friend and mentor to me. Someone that you could always talk to. Someone who supported and urged you to do the very best that you could. Always quick with a smile and laugh. He cared about our company and our community with a passion that few have. As Frank Morgan as the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz said to the Tin Man when he gave him is heart,"Remember a Heart is Not Measured By How Much You Love, But By How Much You Are Loved By Others!" there is no measurement for our Love, Respect and Admiration for Jim Maloof!
Good Bye My Friend and May God Bless You as You Have Blessed Us.

(1) I have know and been amazed Jim for several years but he really didn't get to know me until about 2 years ago when I told him I wanted to be a Realtor.   He was so encouraging!    What style and grace and of course that voice.  He didn't know I was a singer too.  Once I got on board the Maloof sales team, he and I became super fast friends.  He called my "Big Horse" and always told me "Gonna be big Roemer, you're gonna be great!" how could you not wanna work your tail off for this guy.  We would sit in his office and talk about work then sing a tune, then back to more words of wisdom.  What fun!  One of my favorite memories with Jim was singing for his most recent birthday party.  I got to sing "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserable at his request.   But to top it off, Jim and I did a duet of "The Impossible Dream" his St Jude telethon signature number.   I was so happy and what an honor it was to share such a wonderful song and memory with Jim.  You are one of a kind.  Lastly I will never forget just about a month ago when I visited Jim in the hospital. He wanted the two of us to sing "O Holy Night" to the nurses, and we did!  Jim you made me a better person just knowing you!  Thank you for touching my heart and soul.  Love ya!
